  1. IconAuthor Video For Windows Driver Release Notes

  4. IconAuthor has support for Video for Windows through the
  5. Microsoft MCI AVI driver.  This driver will work with
  6. IconAuthor 5.0 and above.
  7.  
  8. INSTALLATION
  9. ************

  11. To install the IconAuthor Video for Windows
  12. driver do the following:
  13.  
  14. 1.  Follow installation instructions that came with
  15. Video for Windows.  Be sure that the software CODEC
  16. (compressor/decompressor) matches your hardware
  17. configuration such as Indeo for Intel DVI hardware,
  18. Soft 486 for a 486 CPU, etc.
  19.  
  20. 2. During the IconAuthor installation,
  21. select Overlay drivers and select Video for Windows
  22. from the list of drivers.
  23.  
  24. 3. Run IconAuthor.
  25.  
  26. 4. Select Setup Video from the Options menu.
  27. Select Video for Windows as the video player.  Select
  28. Video for Windows for the video port.
  29.  
  30. 5. Select Setup Overlay from the Options menu.
  31. Select Video for Windows as the overlay device.

  33. There is s sample application, AVI.IW.

  35. NEW DIGITAL VIDEO FEATURE

  38. We have added new functions to the V:Overlay icon
  39. to support digital video.
  40.  
  41. **The "Source" command for the V:Overlay icon is used to
  42. define a digital video file as a source.
  43.  
  44. The following example places the file wndsurf1.avi
  45. in video window 1  (MAX 1 WINDOW).

  120. 1. Video will not play in a full size window when Intel Indeo
  121. hardware is installed.  Work around this by using the Window icon.
  122. AimTech is working with Microsoft and Intel to confirm the source
  123. of the bug.

  125. 2. Intel Indeo images do not move when the IconAuthor window
  126. is moved.  AimTech is working with Microsoft and Intel to
  127. confirm the source of the bug.

  129. 3. Video is not correctly aligned when the Window icon is used.
